This morning I signed up to follow you. Obviously what I was reading was old because you already have had your chemo. ๐Ÿฅฒ Selfishly, Andrea, I want you well! Your recited work is amazing and I didnโ€™t even know I liked poetry. Merry Christmas to you and Meg. My pronouns are she/her/Grandma๐Ÿ™ƒ. Sending Michigan trees your way. ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„

As someone recently immunocompromised, this made my heart explode. Thank you so much for sharing this love letter of a human with the world.

I have not been Christmassy ... at. all. Until reading this - so thank you and Meg and love and wishing you a speedy recovery and all things beautiful under and around the tree in all and any of its many variations xoxoxoxox

Weee flying tree of love! ๐Ÿ˜† That's brilliant, Meg is awesome.

I, too, am married to a lady who will remove and redo any bit of decorating I do - and not just for Christmas stuff.

Tbf, she's always right, but it's never not funny (to us both) for me to be over-dramatically fake-offended about it.

But she would also throw a tree or anything else out the window if she thought it was doing me any harm.

My god. Your love for Meg, and hers for you, is a gift to us all. Thank the universe for the both of you, you help keep this raggedly little heart of mine beating true.

I was having a sneezing fit through the intro (I love the irony, as my sneezes could be due to shifts in barometric pressure or alcohol). This is love --- to honor the traditions of those we hold dear, and parse out those which bring US joy.

What holidays or rituals DO bring you joy? Mine is winter solstice and (usually) my birthday.

Stay well, and thank you for sharing your journey with the vastness of the internet.

You and Meg are wonderful gifts to the world. Might I suggest that Meg wrap both of you up like the wonderful gifts that you are so that you can rip off the wrappings for each other?? This post cheered my day and reminded me how much our partners can support us in the most amazing ways. Both my husband and myself are immune compromised, so we appreciate the challenges. Much love.
